Liberty: where the office, the hotel and the city meet

Modern urban development is no longer just about buildings. A key goal for developers is to create liveable, sustainable and flexible infrastructure that also serves everyday mobility needs. Liberty — one of WING's most advanced office developments — was designed from day one around a solution that delivers smooth, convenient mobility for a multi-purpose property.

What makes the mixed-use Liberty special is that it simultaneously hosts the offices of internationally recognised companies, retail units and hotel guests: alongside its A+ category office spaces, it is also home to the 3-4 star ibis & Tribe Budapest Stadium hotel. This diverse user base has widely varying mobility needs, so it was essential that parking and EV charging work simply, transparently and sustainably for everyone involved.

Matching the building's scale and functions, Parkl implemented a comprehensive mobility system capable of handling parking and charging for office workers, hotel guests and daily visitors alike. Today more than five hundred parking spaces and fifty-seven EV charging points are managed through the Parkl digital platform, so permission handling, spot booking and access control are fully digitalised and automated. The parking system was built with outer and inner barriers: the outer barrier controls general access, while the inner one separates a dedicated area on levels -2 and -3 reserved exclusively for office tenants.

Barriers on their own don't solve access — a smart system is needed to run them. Compared to traditional card-based access, Parkl's digital solution provides more transparent and secure operation. Utilisation of permission-based dedicated parking spots can be tracked and reported in real time, significantly easing fleet management and administration for tenant companies.

Parkl's system can technically cover every parking use case, whether it's company employees or hotel guests, supported by two features developed specifically for Liberty. Guest permits let administrators easily register a guest for a defined period — for example the length of a hotel stay. During that window the guest can enter and exit the garage without limits, and the system automatically links the access right to the licence plate last seen at the barrier. The payment-validation feature also allows a guest's plate to be pre-registered so arrival is even smoother — even without Parkl registration — while exit still requires the parking fee to be settled. These solutions are especially useful for larger events, conferences and business meetings when many guests must be handled efficiently in a short time.

It's worth noting that Liberty's garage already had a previously installed hardware system, which did not need to be replaced when Parkl was introduced — avoiding costly equipment procurement. Parkl's solution runs independently and in parallel with it. In practice, only Parkl's software layer had to be added to the existing hardware to fully digitalise the garage, without significant investment or infrastructure works. This flexible approach delivered fast rollout and lower cost for operations while preserving customer satisfaction.

In developing Liberty, our goal was to apply technological solutions that deliver tangible, everyday benefits for tenants and visitors. Parkl's digital parking and charging management system does exactly that: it preserves the user experience while supporting the property's sustainability ambitions.

Parkl's mobility solution was a defining step for Liberty toward more efficient and sustainable operations. Beyond encouraging EV use, the service also raises garage utilisation, reducing morning spot-hunting and congestion on surrounding streets. That's not only more convenient for tenants and visitors — it also contributes to more sustainable corporate mobility in an office environment.

Our cooperation shows that a modern building is not only about its walls, but also about how we can actively contribute to making urban mobility more sustainable while offering simple, usable solutions.
