At BMW Group's Debrecen plant, where only fully electric vehicles are manufactured, it is not only the production lines that are running on electricity. Hundreds of chargers also serve employees commuting by electric car. But why did the automotive giant choose Parkl to deliver the largest corporate charging infrastructure in the Central and Eastern European region?

Known for our corporate mobility solutions, Parkl is a strategic partner of BMW's German parent company as well as its Hungarian subsidiary, supporting the automaker's customers as an official e-mobility partner. Since mid-2025, this strategic collaboration has also extended to the Czech market.

Hungary's largest corporate charging infrastructure

As a key milestone of this partnership, BMW Group commissioned Parkl to design and implement the complete employee charging infrastructure for its new plant in Debrecen. The brief was clear: create Hungary's largest corporate charging infrastructure, capable of meeting future e-mobility demands across both hardware and software – aligned with the plant's identity as BMW's first fully electric factory.

Parkl has played a key role in the project since the start of construction, tailoring the charging management design and delivery to the carmaker's specific needs. Today, more than 300 AC and DC charging stations are available for the corporate fleet on the factory premises, all operated by Parkl.

The scale of an electrified city

The total capacity of the employee charging infrastructure at the plant exceeds 7,000 kW – equivalent to the grid capacity required to supply roughly 27,000 households, or the electricity demand of a medium-sized Hungarian city.

Through the roaming service available within the app, employees can access not only the plant's charging points but also public charging networks in seven other Central European countries. This allows them to drive their EVs from the Debrecen plant all the way to BMW's Munich headquarters without needing a separate app. Permission management and full administrative handling take place entirely within the Parkl system, significantly simplifying charging-related processes for employees.

The example of BMW's Debrecen plant clearly demonstrates that Parkl is an innovative company capable of meeting challenges on a European scale and of becoming a key contributor to shaping the region's mobility future.
