How does the search work for off-street car parks?
On the Private dashboard, tap the off-street parking tile, then the Search button, and type in your destination. Results are marked on the map with a yellow pin.
How do I get from the car park to my destination?
If, after searching, you tap on a car park near your destination, the app shows you the walking route between the car park and your destination, and also estimates the walking time.
What do the pins on the map indicate?
The pins show the off-street car parks near you and their hourly rate. Tapping a pin shows the car park's name and hourly rate.
- Purple: available car park
- Purple with lighter text: full car park
- Black: selected car park
- Grey: temporarily closed
- A lightning bolt next to the pin: the car park also has a charger
What is Instant parking, and how does it work?
Where available (for example in shopping centres), the barrier opens automatically based on number plate recognition, so you don't need to open the gate separately in the app. You can turn on this feature on the Profile page, under the Vehicles menu item.
How do I open the gate or barrier?
Parkl installs its own purpose-built device in car parks, so you can open the gate with a single tap, from your phone. At locations that support Instant parking, the barrier opens automatically based on number plate recognition.
What should I do if I can't open the gate?
Check that you have an internet connection, that you're at the right gate, and that you have an active parking session at that location. If it still doesn't work, contact the car park operator, or call our customer service: +36 1 8 555 777.
How do I know where I can park?
If you get a specific space number after opening the barrier, look for the corresponding space. Otherwise, the app will indicate whether you can park in any free space, any free Parkl space, or a specific space (for example P-001).
Can I come and go while my parking session is running?
Not by car, but on foot, yes.
What should I do if I can't get out of the car park on foot?
You can only use the app to exit on foot if the car park has no separate pedestrian exit and you can only leave the building through the vehicle exit. In every other case, use the pedestrian exit.
What's the minimum parking time?
There's no minimum parking time, but at most locations you won't be charged for parking sessions shorter than 10 minutes.
How does the space owner know that I'm using their space?
The owner can see in the Parkl admin interface who is parking with them and the licence plate of their car.
How do I buy and use a pass?
If you have a valid pass for a car park, tapping the Start button on the car park's detail page will automatically start pass-based parking. You can also find your passes under the Transactions / Passes menu item, and you can start parking from the pass details page as well.
What types of passes are there?
- Daily – On a given day, between 00:00 and 23:59
- 24-hour – For 24 hours from the time of purchase
- 7-day – From 00:00 on the chosen day, for 7 days
- Weekly – From 00:00 on the first day of the week until 23:59 on the last day
- 30-day – From 00:00 on the chosen day, for 30 days
- Monthly – From 00:00 on the first day of the month until 23:59 on the last day
- 365-day – From 00:00 on the chosen day, for 365 days
Except for the 24-hour and monthly passes, you can set the start of the validity period yourself: in the VALIDITY field, tap the Edit option (pencil icon).
What restrictions apply to passes?
Some passes are only valid during a specific period. A period-based pass can only be used within a given time window (for example a night pass: 18:00–8:00), while a weekend pass is only valid on weekends, acting like a daily pass. We always state these conditions on the Buy pass page, next to the pass type.
Can I buy several passes at the same time?
Yes, but a pass can only ever be used in the car park it was purchased for.
